Survivor 2008
I believe the biggest trap in presidential politics is worrying about electability. Any one of these people is intelligent and qualified to be the President. I keep asking my friends: Who do you like? Who inspires you? Who would make you proudest?

I like Gore, but I think he is forever tainted in some people’s minds, and that makes him harder to elect.
On the plus side, he’s been out of politics for a while, and therefore could say he has little to do with the mess we’re now in.
I agree with Kaz. Gore’s my man, followed by Barak and Hillary.
Barak Obama inspires me, but I’d rather he stayed in the Senate for his whole term before making a run for president.
Simply because of the Wellesley connection, it would be amazing if Hillary won - oh, how I’d love to work here with her as the nation’s president.
But yes, I do love Gore because he’s smart, passionate, and cares about a lot of things that I think we as not only a nation but as a world need to address. Maybe a Gore-Clinton ticket?
I don’t know much about Evan Bayh, and the rest of the bunch don’t speak much to me.
I always liked Al Gore, and apparently, so did America. If only he’d been more popular with the Supreme Court. Sigh.
Who doesn’t like Obama? He’s a machine that produces inspiration, and I don’t even really know what he stands for. Hope, apparently. Awesome. I think we could all use some of that.
I like Hillary. If a woman is to be elected president, I think a sizable portion of the electorate needs to believe that she would personally kill Osama bin Laden, given the chance. I think Hillary would do it. She also seems to have a pretty good record of working with people when necessary to accomplish her goals, regardless of party, and I like that. Plus the name “Clinton” makes me feel all warm inside. Thanks, Bill!
John Edwards is the kind of guy who seems like he might actually be that nice. He’s running as a populist, which makes me a little nervous. But he’s sticking to the poverty thing, and I admire that. Really.
Joe Biden *will* shove his foot in his mouth. Kerry, too.
I wouldn’t mind Wes Clark as secretary of something.
The three unknowns as of yet are Vilsack, Richardson, and Evan Bayh. I have no thoughts on them.
At this point, Al Gore. At the Brookhaven event he showed a sense of humor I had not seen before, very impressive and thoughtful man as well. In time a leader who will inspire America may appear, but for now, Al Gore.
All things being equal, I can’t help but support Hillary Clinton. The prospect of a woman president in my lifetime is too good to pass up.
There was an article in the Inquirer this weekend talking about why Hillary is electable. It gave me hope. I liked having a smart President and his wife is probably even smarter. I just wish she had more charisma on TV. I had such anticipation when she spoke at the last convention and she was so stiff. And every time I hear Bill on TV I just want him back. What an amazing communicator (of real ideas). The first candidates panel I saw with Bill (and 6 other candidates) I was immediately inspired. A feeling I hadn’t had before and haven’t had since. I mostly support candidates now because of who they’re not instead of who they are. I’m waiting for one of these to change that…
