Tiffy--

At the very last minute, Gannon started distributing literature trying to make it look as though Rendell endorsed Tom Gannon. (Rendell had written him a nice letter to thank him for his support of a piece of legislation.)

Given that Rendell's coattails were large, taking almost 70% of the vote down this way, nobody wanted there to be any ambiguity. They were running around the district with sticky notes that simply said that Ed Rendell endorses Bryan Lentz for State Rep.

In the end, it all worked out. But with only a 500-ish vote margin, it was too close to leave anything to chance.

Woo hoo! That's some of the best news I've heard in a day of *very* good news.
We got a visit from some Rendell folks late in the afternoon yesterday and their primary message was actually "Vote Lentz!" rather than Rendell himself. I had already voted by that time, but I wonder if that last minute push made the difference?
